Gender of Nouns

However, when the noun refers to a living being it is common for the gender of the noun to match the sex of the creature.

Consider these two words:

Spanish Word	English Equivalent	Gender
chico	boy	masculine
chica	girl	feminine

This is an example of the gender of the noun corresponding with the sex of the creature.
